Summary

Fighting an alien in an acadmic rivalry turned vile hatred was never on O'Ceann's bucketlist but here they were. Shortly after the reappearance of magic on Serieena, Xenon O'Ceann, noticed they too had powers. They could manipulate radiation. And they wanted to keep that secret, then Nova came along. Nova Binnalis was an alien sent to take over or destroy Serieena. Xenon wanted to protect their home. And that was where the rivalry formed between the two.

The two decided to keep each other's secrets, Nova's alien origin and Xenon's radiation magic, for now. It was the weapon they had against each other. Xenon trained to prefect their powers as to not accidently harm anyone. This also involved learning to control their emotions, as intense feelings sent sparks of blinding cyan, ionizing radiation hitting oxygen in the air around them. To normal humans, to most, something leathal. Nova watched and waited. Looking for a good moment to enact a plan to destroy the planet, a plan that would involve Xenon and their seemingly unpredictable magic.

Xenon suddenly lost their closest friend. Suicide. An event that shook Xenon to their core. Nova saw the perfect opertunity to act. The alien thought she could use Xenon's grief to turn the human against humanity. When that failed, Nova used force.

Now, 100 years later, Nova's plan succeded and the world ended in a nuclear apocalype. Xenon swore to defeat Nova to protect the dwindled yet surviving remnants of humanity.
